About The Founder
Spencer Allen
Born in Alabama and raised in Atlanta, Spencer is originally from the south.
He grew up renovating houses with his father and moved west to study music performance and sound engineering. He has spent the past 10 years in Los Angeles, and has long considered it his home.
Prior to co-founding Fulcrum, he spent five years with Apex Direct Search where he would become their lead technical recruiter and help build some of Los Angeles' most successful tech companies. While at Apex, Spencer was lucky enough to gain direct mentorship from one of LA tech's most respected recruiters.
Most recently Spencer was the Head of Talent at Instil.io, growing the team from pre-seed stage through Series A, (backed by Threshold, CRV, Greycroft)
Spencer lives in Highland Park with his wife Sarah, their two cats Mortimer Brewster and Baxter Talbot, and their freeway off-ramp rescue pup Beatrix Olson.
When he's not recruiting, Spencer spends his time kayak fishing in Malibu, freediving and spearfishing, training with the Rose Bowl Masters Swim team, producing independent music, and taking photos.
